Assisi
This is our stop between Venice and Rome at Assisi.
The tomb of St. Francis is in the Basilica. Of course, the marble work inside is beautiful.
While inside, we saw a monk performing part of a service. St. Francis was born in 1182.
We ate a quick lunch here. As in all of Italy, fast food is a slice of pizza or a panini.
Some people in our group said the shopkeepers did not give them correct change and the people were not as nice as those in other cities.
