Venice

The area around San Marcos Square. In the middle pictures you can see St. Mark's Basilica. In the last picture you can see the square where Ventians would gather to party and dance. This is also the square that floods after heavy rains. Our guide told us that Venice will be under water in the future. The water bubbles up from beneath the city. There are vendors who sell food for the pigeons and there are plenty of people to buy it. It is really gross to see those nasty birds landing on people's arms and heads. On the flip side, there are "monitors" who will give you a citation if you eat a sandwich in the square. The sandwich creates food droppings for the pigeons.
